No regulation, no required qualifications, no oversight. Someone can watch a few YouTube videos on Monday and open a dog training business on Tuesday.

Hi, I'm Francisca
A canine behaviour consultant based in Lisbon, with a background in communication and a slightly unhealthy obsession with dogs that turned into a career change.
I work with the behaviour, but I always work with the owner too — because fixing a dog without teaching the human is just bad interspecies translation.

Depending on your dog's needs I may suggest starting with solo sessions before bringing you in — this accelerates progress for certain cases. For complex cases involving aggression or severe anxiety I work alongside more experienced specialists, which may affect the overall cost. I'll always discuss that with you upfront.

Do you use punishment or dominance-based methods?
No. Ever. I work exclusively with positive reinforcement and force-free methods based on current behaviour science.
How many sessions will we need?
It depends on the dog and the problem. Some things shift quickly, others take consistent work over weeks. That's why the first call is free — to give you a realistic picture before you commit.
What areas do you cover, and in what language?
Lisbon city centre, with a travel fee from €10 beyond it. I'm fluent in English and Portuguese.
Do you work with aggressive dogs?
For complex aggression cases I work alongside more experienced specialists. Get in touch and we'll work out whether I'm the right fit, or what would make more sense instead.
